Ghibli Museum in Mitaka

Hello everyone! This is Takashima from Business Garden.

Have you ever watched any movies produced by Studio Ghibli, which is one of the most famous and popular animation studios in Japan? If not, maybe you should watch some of their films even if you are not a big fan of anime, for their animations are something beyond just animations.

Anyway, I finally went to their Ghibli Museum in Mitaka last weekend. The tickets are only 1,000 yen for an adult but are quickly sold out and need to be purchased online at least a month in advance if you want to go on a weekend.

I don't have any pictures of the inside because no cameras and recorders are permitted in the museum, but probably you can tell how fantastic it is by looking at this pictures taken from the outside!

(The huge robot on the roof is one of the most famous characters in their film called ''Laputa, Castle in the Sky''.)

It took us about 3 hours to see all the exhibits including watching a special short film that is not showing at theaters. I personally liked their studio show room section where we could see the studio layouts, furniture, and even pencils and papers that the animators actually used to create their awesome work.

Highly recommended for a short weekend trip in the rainy season!
