Have you ever been to Yokocho in Japan? Yokocho is a Japanese old style shopping street whose both sides are filled with small restaurants and bars where you can drop by and eat in. There are many Yokochos in Tokyo, and one of my favorites is Ebisu Yokocho.
It's located in a 3 minute-walking distance from JR Ebisu station, and the place is so popular that all the restaurants and bars are already packed with people by 8pm on weekends.
Highly recommended if you are in the mood of casual drinking in a Japanese old style!
